I studied Illustration from 2002 - 2006 at BK Akademie in Hamburg, Germany. My work started in illustration and drawing and has moved forward towards a deeper concentration in painting within the past years. I am fascinated by the creation of a surreal atmosphere that is reflected in gloomy backgrounds and mystical figures. The extremes play an essential role in my work: I combine a multi-layered technique with dark and mysterious backgrounds and extremly colourful and intense figures. I am fascinated by creating monumental, often mystical figures, that, however, consist of many diverse details. The animal/human-like creatures in my work underline an atmosphere of contradiction that reveals unique and hidden tension.
